Dr Ibrahim Abd Elrahman is a well-known Consultant Gynaecologist and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon. He grew up and trained in the UK and possesses around decades of progressive and solid clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His main interests are advanced laparoscopic surgery including fibroids, endometriosis, prolapse, and repair of structural abnormalities.

Dr Ibrahim completed his medical degree from National University of Ireland (NUI) and obtained his MB BS, LRCP&SI from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 1991 and his MRCOG in 2000. Subsequently in 2005 he completed his specialist training (CCST) and obtained accreditation of minimal access surgeries from RCOG. Later he obtained the BSCCP Accreditation and FRCOG in the year 2007 and 2016 respectively.

Dr Ibrahim relocated to UAE from the UK with his family in 2008. He has been serving with various reputed hospitals in UK including Hammersmiths and Queen Charlottes Hospitals and the Royal Marsden Hospital.

In Addition to his clinical practices, Dr Ibrahim Abd Elrahman was chairman of the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Subcommittee. He is also Asst. Professor in Mohamed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) and was training coordinator in Obs and Gynae for MBRU students in Mediclinic Middle East. He has been and continues to be involved in clinical research programs and publications.

He is keen and enthusiastic in CME programs and has presented at local and international conferences. He is often considered a tertiary referral for surgery of complex gynaecological cases as well as performing case reviews from many facilities.

Dr. Momin completed her MBBS (Obs & Gyne) and MD (Obs & Gyne) from Saurashtra University-Rajkot, Gujarat, India. She also holds a Fellowship in Ultrasonography (Obs & Gyne) from Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai Hospital, Gujarat. The doctor has experience in assessing, diagnosing and treating female reproductive disorders, including abnormal and irregular menstrual periods, endometriosis, genital infections, ovarian cysts, breast abnormalities, promoting health and wellness and several other conditions concerning the female reproductive system.

Dr. Momin also has several successful surgeries to her credit, as dilation and curettage, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, tubal ligation and other surgical procedures.

Dr. Masroor earned her MBBS from Sind Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. She received her MRCOG in 1994 and FRCOG in 2006, from London, UK. She has also completed her advanced diploma in Obstetric Ultrasound from Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynecologist, Royal College of Radiology, London. The doctor has worked as Consultant –Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Saudi German Hospital Dubai for more than a year and as a Senior Consultant –Obstetrics & Gynecology for Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah, for 10 years. Additionally, she has worked in different hospitals in the United Kingdom for more than 16 years. Since her joining RAK Hospital she successfully heads the Department and is well liked and respected by patients and colleagues alike.

Associate Professor Samina Dornan is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a sub-specialty in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Furthermore, she is the first female specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of London to come to Dubai. Her primary goal is to normalize and personalize the experience for each patient and their family, so they can be assured that even though their unborn baby may have a potential birth defect, expert help can be found.

Her areas of expertise include prenatal counselling, Fetal Growth Restriction, prenatal diagnosis and foetal therapy, Fetal genetic disorders, including trisomy’s and Fetal structural abnormalities including congenital diaphragmatic hernia. She also specializes and has extensively published in Complex twin pregnancies, especially monochorionic, with the foetal and placental biochemical responses involved in twin-twin transfusion syndrome. Her expertise also includes general obstetrics and gynaecology, along with managing high risk mothers, their pregnancies and foetuses.

Background
Prof. Dornan became interested in Fetal Medicine during her residency and training program and was drawn to the idea of specialising in Fetal diagnosis and treatment because of its multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to problem solving.

Prof. Dornan has an MD degree from Queen’s University Belfast, UK, where she completed her five-year training program. This included a period at St. George’s Hospital London, where she subsequently obtained her first consultant position in 2009.

Prior to joining Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, Prof. Dornan served as a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist and was a lead clinician on multiple pregnancies at the Royal Maternity Hospital Belfast, Belfast Trust, UK. She also served as the Sub speciality Trainer for MFM in the RCOG Northern Ireland Training program.

Prof. Dornan is the first female Maternal Fetal Medicine Sub Specialist, from the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, London to be here in Dubai. In 2017 she received a Fellowship from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London.

Dr. Krishi Gowdra has more than 18 years of experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She believes in holistic, compassionate, and patient focused healthcare. She has extensive experience in management of all types of pregnancies, labour, and delivery, both medical and surgical management of gynaecological disorders. She is trained in Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy, Colposcopy and Basic ultrasound scan in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

She has completed MBBS from Bangalore Medical College, India, and then proceeded to do MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and secured 3rd rank in Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences, Karnataka, India, MS exam in 2003. She obtained the membership of Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London, in 2012.

Dr. Ruprai has over 20 years’ experience providing functional, endoscopic, laparoscopic, reproductive, and aesthetic gynaecological treatments. Her holistic approach is very popular with patients and extends to anti-aging medicine that incorporates hormonal balance control, nutrition and optimal health and well-being. She has many publications to her credit and is on the editorial board of International Medical Journals.

Dr. Ruprai further advanced her training from reputed institutes in Germany, France, Malaysia, and the USA, and has taken specialized training (certified by the European and American Board) in applications of energy-based devices and advanced cosmetic procedures in functional gynaecology. She is one of the pioneers of Cosmetic Gynaecology in UAE and India and has been chosen to be elected to the General Assembly of the globally endorsed list of Top Cosmetic Gynaecologists (www.topcosmeticgyn.com). She has been awarded Associate Membership to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) from the UK. She is also an internationally renowned faculty at various scientific conferences and meetings and has served as an Associate Professor at the university level for Under and post-graduate studies.

Prof. Dr. Marija Hadji Lega earned her Medical Degree from St. Cyril & Methodius University, Medical Faculty, FYRO Macedonia, 1997. She completed her Specialization in Obstetrics & Gynecology from the same university, 2005 and also Subspecializing in Perinatal Medicine (Maternal-Fetal Medicine) in 2014 also from the same university. She earned her PhD degree in Clinical Medicine (Prediction of preterm deliveries) from Medical Faculty, University of Nish, Serbia. Prof. Dr. Marija Hadji Lega has more than 21 years of experience in Obstetrics, Gynecology and especially in Fetal Medicine (first trimester screening, anomaly scans, growth scan). She was the Chief of High-Risk Pregnancy Unit at University Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics (Unique Tertiary level Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics), Skopje, FYRO Macedonia.

In 2016 she was elected for Associate Professor for Gynecology and Obstetrics, Medical Faculty, University St CYrilus and Methodius Skopje, FYROMacedonia and she has been involved in education and training of medical students and residents.

She was for 5 years Medical Director of University Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics, Skopje, FYRO Macedonia (special training in Hospital Management in Japan) She is also trained and had a big experience in invasive procedures (amniocentesis, CVS).

H.E. Dr. Maryam Matar is one of the leading influencers and a pioneer in the field of public education and awareness of genetic disorders, health and well-being of the community of UAE and the region. She holds senior and board level positions at several public and non-profit organisations such as Dubai Cares, Reach Mentoring.

As a pioneer in the field of genetic disorder studies, she played a key instrumental role in initiatives such as pre-marital screening, preventive genetic testing and also was able to successfully create and implement legislations at the government level in the UAE.

H.E. Dr. Matar is the first Emirati woman to bear the title of Undersecretary to the Minister of Health in 2006, designing blueprints for Public Health and Primary Health Care for year 2011. Moreover, she launched a number of initiatives to deliver Primary Health Care (PHC) services in the Northern Emirates and increase the number of PHC centres from 52 to 97.

She has received many awards on a yearly basis, including the H.H. Sheikh Rashid “Academic Excellence” Award in the Faculty of Medicine (1999); “Best Healthcare Project” Award among all UAE Higher Colleges of Technology (2002);“Distinguished Employee” Award from Dubai Government Excellence Program in the Department of Health and Medical Services (2003);“Best Community Project” Award from the H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (2004) and Emirates Businesswomen Award for “Professional Excellence” (2004).

Dr Prashanth is an experienced clinician, healthcare leader and researcher with expertise in evidence-based healthcare, quality clinical care and medical education. He is currently the Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Gulf Medical University and Specialist Gynaecologist at Thumbay University Hospital in UAE. He is also the Group Chief of Quality at Thumbay Healthcare Division leading the Quality Assurance in enterprise hospitals.

He has extensive expertise in field of women health with special interest in minimally invasive gynaecology and high-risk pregnancies. He was awarded fellowships in minimally access surgery. He is a medical researcher with research articles published in national and international medical journals. He is also a resource person for Gynae conferences and was an invited speaker in MENA Women’s Health Congress in 2015.

Dr Prashanth obtained his medical specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in India. Obtained Masters in Businesses Administration in Healthcare from Geneva Business School in Switzerland. He got certified from Harvard Business School in Strategy and value measurement for global healthcare delivery.

Previously he held various key leadership positions in Academic hospitals as Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Chief of Medical Staff and later the Medical Director of the hospital. He provided leadership and change management for tertiary healthcare facility with a reputation for quality care and clinical excellence.

Dr Prashanth achieved international healthcare quality accreditations and has garnered a number of accolades in the field of women health and leadership. This includes Excellence in Healthcare award for exemplary skills and professional acumen in 2015, Appreciation award in 2017 and Key contributor award in 2019.

Dr. Mohamed Khalafallah finished his MBBCH at the Faculty of Medicine, Menofia University, Egypt in 2000. In 2006, he completed his Master’s Degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology then in 2012, he qualified for his Doctor of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology - both from the same university. In 2017, Dr. Khalafallah received his Diploma of Minimal Invasive Surgery in Gynecology from MIS Academy.

Dr. Khalafallah started his medical practice in 2002 as a Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology, then in 2006, he became a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Menofia University Hospital. In 2012, he was posted as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the same medical facility. 2 years later, he moved to KSA and worked as a Senior Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at the Maternity Hospital under the Ministry of Health – Kuwait. Before joining Bareen, he was a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology in a private hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Khalafallah has an intensive experience managing female reproductive disorders such as infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss including assisted reproductive techniques, abnormal bleeding, irregular menstrual periods, endometriosis, genital infections, ovarian cysts, breast abnormalities, fibroid, adnexal masses, congenital anomalies, and uterine masses. He is well-versed in handling gynecological oncology including colposcopy, managing benign and malignant tumors of cervix, uterus, and ovaries; managing normal and c-section deliveries. His areas of expertise include hysterectomy, myomectomy, hysteroscopy, laparotomy, minimally invasive surgeries, and uro-gynecology which includes urinary stress incontinence and vaginal prolapse.

Dr. Khalafallah is a member of the Fetal Medicine Foundation Society – UK.

Dr. Mariam Kharroubi completed her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Lebanese University, Beirut and Paris Descartes University, France. She finished her subspecialty in Fetal Medicine and high-risk pregnancy at St Luc Hospital in Brussels- Université Catholique de Louvain, where she had extensive training in antenatal diagnosis- detailed fetal ultrasonography (NT Scan- morphological scan), Doppler Scans and Prenatal invasive tests.

Additionally, Dr. Mariam Kharroubi is well versed in the management of high-risk pregnancy patients including preconception counseling and pregnancy follow-up of patients with chronic diseases, autoimmune diseases, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and associated complications (Preeclampsia- Help Syndrome), preterm labor and delivery, and management of maternal and fetal infections during pregnancy.

Dr Astha Mishra is working as a Specialist Gynaecologist in Aster Clinic, Al Khail Mall. She has more than 18 years of experience in various hospitals in UAE and India. She is also a visiting specialist in Aster and Medcare Hospital, doing all kinds of routine and high-risk obstetrics (delivery) and Gynaecological procedures including wide range of Laparoscopy procedures. She has intensive experience in ultrasonography, infertility and Laparoscopy. She has completed her MBBS (1996) and MS (2000) from Rajasthan University.
